Physical activity is important for a wide variety of reasons. It helps maintain a healthy weight, increases strength in muscles and bones and can even improve concentration. Regular exercise combined with a healthy diet is vital to any child's development and lays the foundations for a healthy life. Exercise also relieves stress and promotes relaxation- so get moving!
Try to limit the amount of time you spend watching tv and playing computer games and take a 'brain break'- replace those activities with something physical. Children need at least 30 minutes of daily exercise but will benefit from even more than this.
I know getting out at the moment is tricky, but 'getting active' shouldn't be. Here are some fun indoor fitness activities for the whole family to enjoy together!
